PURSUIT NEAR HAZENLEADS TO ARREST, DRUG SEIZURE

HAZEN, Ark. – Arkansas State Police (ASP) is actively searching for two suspects who fled on foot after a vehicle pursuit ended along Interstate 40 near Hazen early Wednesday morning.

Troopers attempted a traffic stop on a black Hyundai Palisade at approximately 8:45 a.m., for a traffic violation. The driver fled at speeds approaching 100 miles per hour while making reckless lane changes.

The driver, identified as Brevin Tre Harvey, 24, of Saltillo, Miss., and a rear passenger, Marice Quencha Sykes, 30, of Tupelo, Miss., ran into a wooded area and are still at large. A passenger, Kyle Anthony Easley, 33, of Shannon, Miss., was arrested and taken to the Prairie County Detention Center.

Troopers recovered a handgun discarded by one of the suspects and 58 pounds of illegal marijuana found inside the vehicle.

State and local law enforcement partners are assisting in the search.
