Clarendon, Arkansas, August 12, 2025 – Arkansas State Police (ASP) arrested Caleb Hunter Gannon, a 27-year-old football coach at Clarendon High School, on Sunday, August 10, 2025, following allegations of sexual assault involving a minor. The arrest, conducted during a traffic stop in West Memphis, stems from an investigation initiated by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office on July 30, 2025, with assistance from the ASP Criminal Investigation Division.
Gannon faces two felony charges: Rape and Engaging Children in Sexually Explicit Conduct for Use in a Visual or Print Medium. He made his first court appearance on Monday, August 11, before a Monroe County judge, who set his bond at $3 million. Gannon is currently held at the Prairie County Detention Center.
The allegations have sent shockwaves through Clarendon, a small community in Monroe County, approximately 70 miles south of Batesville. Authorities have not released additional details about the case, including the age or identity of the alleged victim, to protect the ongoing investigation. The Clarendon School District has not issued a public statement regarding Gannon’s employment status.
