Parole Absconder Responsible For Altercation At Local Gas Station

BATESVILLE, Ark. – Authorities have arrested 28-year-old Patrick Dean Rew in connection with the recent altercation at Littlefield Gas Station on Westside. Rew, a parole absconder, was taken into custody at 5:21 p.m. on March 27, 2025, in Batesville.

Rew was wanted for absconding and was also held on a probation and parole violation. His arrest follows a violent altercation at the gas station, where he was directly involved in an incident that led to gunfire. The confrontation resulted in injuries to retired police officer Buck Riggs, who was forced to defend himself when attacked. Riggs, who was recovering from hip surgery, sustained further injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Little Rock.

Authorities have confirmed Rew’s role in the altercation, and his capture marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation. Officials continue to gather evidence related to the case and are expected to release further details soon.

More updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
