Multiple Protests Held in Little Rock Against Fatal ICE Shooting in Minneapolis

Little Rock, AR – Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Little Rock on Saturday, January 10, 2026, for multiple protests expressing outrage over the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis earlier this week.

The events, part of a nationwide wave of demonstrations under the “ICE Out for Good” banner, drew participants to at least two locations in the capital city. More than 100 people marched and chanted along Geyer Springs Road in southwest Little Rock during the day, carrying signs criticizing ICE tactics and the use of force by federal agents. A second gathering later attracted additional crowds voicing similar concerns.

Protesters cited Good’s death—a 37-year-old U.S. citizen, mother of three, and legal observer—as the catalyst for their actions. “It’s just heartbreaking, tragic, and very upsetting,” said Emma Field, an Arkansan who attended one of the rallies. Others highlighted what they described as inadequate training and excessive force, with one demonstrator noting, “That’s an unnecessary amount of force. I don’t think that was necessary at all. She was a mother, she was a person, she was a daughter, she was a wife.”

The protests reflect growing national anger over the incident on January 7, where conflicting accounts have emerged: Federal officials, including DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, describe it as self-defense against Good allegedly “weaponizing” her vehicle, while Minneapolis leaders and video analyses dispute this, calling the shooting reckless.

The Little Rock demonstrations remained peaceful, though some locals expressed discomfort with signage and interactions. Not all residents supported the events, with one anonymous southwest Little Rock resident noting unease over certain language used.

The gatherings align with over 1,000 planned rallies across the U.S. this weekend, organized by groups like Indivisible, demanding accountability, an end to ICE operations in communities, and justice for Good. Protests have drawn tens of thousands in Minneapolis and crowds in cities including Denver, Boston, New York, and Los Angeles.

In Arkansas, smaller daily vigils have occurred outside a Department of Homeland Security building in Little Rock in recent weeks, with Saturday’s turnout notably higher due to the Minneapolis shooting.
