A tragic two-vehicle crash in Batesville last week resulted in the death of a 27-year-old Salado man, with another individual suffering injuries.
On the morning of Thursday, Sept. 19, Marcos Macuixtle was driving a Ford Taurus eastbound on Highway 25 when he allegedly ran a red light at the intersection with Highway 167. A Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound collided with the Taurus, striking the vehicle’s driver side. According to the Arkansas State Police report, the Silverado’s driver had no opportunity to react or brake.
The crash also left Lucio Botzoc, 32, of Batesville, injured. He was taken to White River Medical Center for treatment.
The accident occurred just before 7 a.m. under clear weather and dry road conditions.
