Arkansas Teen Wins Fourth Consecutive World Duck Calling Title

Arkansas Teen Wins Fourth Consecutive World Duck Calling Title

BATESVILLE, Ark. – At just 15 years old, Hayes Kibe has achieved what many in the competitive world of duck calling can only dream of—winning his fourth world championship. The Arkansas teen took home the title at the 89th Annual World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest during the Wings Over the Prairie Festival in Stuttgart, Arkansas, the self-proclaimed duck capital of the world.

Kibe claimed the 2024 Immediate Intermediate World Championship, adding another trophy to his already impressive collection. Reflecting on his win, he said, “It feels great. It’s not really common to win four, but I’m grateful for it.”

Kibe admitted that this year’s competition was particularly tough, describing it as “a dog fight.” “I thought it was going to be really close,” he said. Despite the pressure, his mental preparation paid off, earning him more than $8,000 in winnings.

“It really humbles you to win,” Kibe shared. “I’ve been blowing a duck call since I was really little. I just fell in love with it. I really like doing it, and it’s fun for me.”

Competing in duck calling contests is no easy task, Kibe explained. Each call requires precision, skill, and creativity. “It’s pretty hard; it takes a little bit to get your tone,” he said. “You’re basically painting a picture for your contest. You’re picturing that the ducks are way out there, and you have to do your big calls, your big hails, to bring them in.”

Kibe expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of his family throughout his journey. “It felt really good that my family was there for me, and I had a lot of people support me,” he said.

As Kibe sets his sights on future competitions, he hopes to continue building on his success and one day compete—and win—in the prestigious Men’s Division. For now, the young champion from Batesville remains a rising star in the duck calling world, inspiring others with his passion and dedication to the craft.
