Affidavit: Man Allegedly Rams Jeep into Garage Multiple Times in Independence County Disturbance

Independence County, AR – A 49-year-old man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly driving a black Jeep Wrangler into a residential garage several times, causing extensive damage estimated at around $31,000, according to an arrest affidavit from the Independence County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on January 8, 2026, at a home on Reed Wade Road. Deputies responded to a disturbance call where the homeowner reported that Jeffery Raydean McBride intentionally rammed the Jeep into the garage multiple times, striking parked vehicles inside.

A witness confirmed seeing the Jeep repeatedly crash into the garage, pushing doors off their tracks and forcing a Ford F-150 through a wall, partially out of the structure. No injuries were reported.

McBride reportedly fled the scene through a fence but later returned to the property. Deputies observed him walking behind the home and ordered him to stop, but he ignored the commands and entered the residence. Officers forced entry and pursued him into a bedroom, where they heard a sound similar to a firearm being chambered.

During the incident, a small bag containing less than two grams of a white crystalline substance—field-tested positive for methamphetamine—was found nearby.

McBride was taken into custody without further incident. He faces charges of residential burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, possession of methamphetamine, and fleeing.

He is currently being held in the Independence County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
