BATESVILLE, Ark. — Scott Davidson, a longtime practicing attorney in Batesville, is running for Circuit Judge in Division 2 of the 16th Judicial District in the March 3, 2026, nonpartisan election.
Davidson announced his candidacy in June 2025 for the open seat vacated by incumbent Judge Don McSpadden, who is not seeking re-election. Division 2 handles domestic relations cases, including divorces, child custody, adoptions, guardianships and other family law matters across Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard and Stone counties.
A Batesville resident since graduating from law school in 1988, Davidson has maintained a private law practice in the area for decades. His campaign emphasizes extensive courtroom experience in the types of cases that come before Division 2, along with a commitment to fairness, efficiency and serving the communities of north-central Arkansas.
In announcement statements and campaign materials, Davidson described it as “my great privilege” to seek the position, highlighting his local ties and legal background in the district. He has actively campaigned through social media, including a Facebook page at facebook.com/Scott-Davidson-for-Circuit-Judge with over 3,000 followers, where he shares videos explaining his reasons for running and calls for support ahead of the election.
Davidson participated in community outreach and judicial forums, including the Independence County Bar Association event on Jan. 15, 2026, at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville.
He is one of three candidates in the race, facing Kara Byars and Thomas Kendrick. Davidson maintains an official campaign profile with the Arkansas Secretary of State and can be contacted via his listed email scott@scottdavidsonlaw.com or P.O. Box 4046, Batesville, AR 72503.
Voters in the five-county district will decide the nonpartisan race on March 3. For more information, visit his Facebook campaign page or follow updates there. All candidates are presumed qualified unless otherwise noted by election authorities.
