Missing Chickasha Boy Ryan “RJ” Davis Jr. Found Safe After Week-Long Search

Chickasha, OK – A 12-year-old boy who vanished more than a week ago amid allegations of abuse against his parents has been located safe and is in good condition, authorities announced Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Ryan “RJ” Davis Jr., also known as Ryker Cole, was found around noon in rural Caddo County near the town of Cement—about 24 miles from where he was last seen on January 2 near Fourth Street and East Grand Avenue by the Quality Inn in Chickasha. Members of the United Cajun Navy, a volunteer search-and-rescue group from Texas, located him during an extensive community-led effort involving hundreds of volunteers, law enforcement, and multiple agencies.

OSBI Public Information Officer Hunter McKee said at a Sunday afternoon news conference: “After days of searching, after hope and prayer, we can say that the outcome that we were all hoping for has come true. RJ is safe, he is sound and we stand by our promise, he will not go back to that property.”

McKee described Ryan as being in “pretty good shape” and in “good spirits” after a medical evaluation. He was placed in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS), with plans to ensure placement in a safe home. Authorities did not disclose specifics on how he ended up in the area or the circumstances of his disappearance.

Chickasha Police Chief Goebel Music added an emotional note: “RJ is safe, he is sound… He will not go back to that property. We’re going to work closely with DHS to make sure that RJ is put into a safe home, which he deserves.”

The discovery comes days after Ryan’s mother, Kimberly Cole, and stepfather, George Cole, were arrested on January 7 on charges including child abuse, child sexual abuse, and conspiracy. OSBI officials stated that interviews and search warrants revealed “apparent harm” to the child while in their care. Both remain in custody at the Caddo County Jail, with the district attorney moving forward on the charges.

The case began when Ryan was reported missing late on January 2. An Endangered Missing Advisory was issued on January 6, and OSBI joined the investigation the next day, labeling it “suspicious.” A $5,000 reward was offered for information leading to his safe return, and community vigils and searches—including on properties linked to the family and areas like Lake Burtschi—intensified over the week.

Investigators have not linked the parents’ arrests directly to the disappearance but emphasized the ongoing probe into the alleged abuse and how Ryan ended up missing.
