Freeze Warning in Effect for Central Arkansas Sunday Evening Through Monday Morning

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for portions of central Arkansas from 8 p.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. CST Monday, as temperatures are expected to drop below freezing overnight.

The warning affects areas including Little Rock, Conway, and surrounding counties in central Arkansas. Forecast lows will range from the upper 20s to low 30s, with wind chill values potentially dipping into the teens and 20s. Impacts may include damage to crops, sensitive vegetation, and unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Residents are advised to protect plants by covering them or bringing them indoors, drain outdoor pipes, and allow faucets to drip to prevent freezing. Frost and freeze conditions could kill unprotected plants and pose risks to pets and livestock left outside.

The freeze warning is part of a broader alert covering most of the state, with similar conditions expected in eastern, north central, southeast, southwest, and western Arkansas. For the latest updates, visit the National Weather Service website at weather.gov/lzk or check local forecasts.
