Bad Boy 98 Night #2 Set to Thrill at Batesville Motor Speedway with ,000 Prize

LOCUST GROVE, Ark. — Racing enthusiasts are gearing up for the climactic Night #2 of the Bad Boy 98, hosted by the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Models at Batesville Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Held in Locust Grove, Arkansas, this high-stakes event offers a $12,000 payday for the winner and $600 for each starter, promising an adrenaline-fueled showdown on the 3/8-mile dirt oval.

The weekend kicks off with Night #1 on Friday, May 9, featuring a $5,000-to-win race, but all eyes are on Saturday’s finale. Gates swing open at 4:00 p.m. CDT, with grandstands welcoming fans at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps roll out at 7:30 p.m., and racing begins at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are priced at $25 for ages 16 and up, $5 for kids ages 12-15, and free for children 11 and under with a paying adult, while pit passes cost $35. The event, sponsored by Batesville-based Bad Boy Mowers, showcases the “Thunder in the Grove” with supporting races including IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, and Arkansas Factory Stocks.

This year’s event gained added urgency after rains forced the cancellation of the May 3 races, shifting focus to the Bad Boy 98 as the season’s next big draw. Drivers will navigate the track under a Hoosier 1350 tire rule on all four corners, with an optional Hoosier 1600 white-dot for the right rear, setting the stage for strategic battles. Past editions have seen fierce competition, with names like Jonathan Davenport and B.J. Robinson claiming victories, hinting at the caliber of talent expected this weekend.

Yet, the recent weather disruption raises questions about track conditions and turnout. The region’s history of spring storms could pose challenges, though the local sponsorship and event prestige suggest strong community support. Fans and racers alike will hope for clear skies, as the prize money and the chance to etch their name in Batesville Motor Speedway’s legacy drive the anticipation for May 10.
