PARAGOULD, Ark. – A Paragould man has been arrested and faces multiple felony charges after police say he fired shots at a home occupied by several adults and children.
The Paragould Emergency Services received multiple reports around 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, of shots fired at a residence in the 200 block of South 10th Avenue. Witnesses identified 22-year-old Devin Dancer and a juvenile as the suspects in the shooting.
According to the police affidavit, Dancer initially left the residence after an argument but returned shortly after with the juvenile. Witnesses reported that Dancer, seated in the passenger seat of a silver Ford Explorer driven by the juvenile, brandished an AR-15-style rifle and fired approximately three rounds toward the home. Officers later found bullet holes in the house but reported that no injuries occurred among the four adults and two juveniles present.
After locating the Ford Explorer at a nearby home on Wirt Street, officers observed a man through the front window and heard someone running through the backyard. Two juveniles exited the residence following police commands, with one confirming that Dancer had fled through the back door. The juvenile also informed officers of a firearm in the front seat of the vehicle.
Upon obtaining a search warrant, police recovered an AR-15, shell casings, and additional evidence from the vehicle. While processing the scene, a 911 call reported a man with a gun in the vicinity where Dancer had fled. Officers later apprehended Dancer nearby. Both juveniles provided statements in Mirandized interviews that corroborated witness accounts.
On Sunday, Nov. 3, Judge Daniel Stidham found probable cause to charge Dancer with terroristic acts, unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, and aggravated assault. Dancer is currently held at the Greene County Detention Center on a $2 million bond, with additional conditions prohibiting contact with the victims and possession of any weapons upon release.
