Fort Smith Police Pursuit Ends in Arrest of Suspect Wanted for Drug Trafficking

FORT SMITH — A high-speed chase in Fort Smith on Monday, Sept. 23, resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Dylan Anderson, who was wanted by the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) for an outstanding drug warrant.

The 12th and 21st Judicial Task Force requested the assistance of Arkansas State Police (ASP) to apprehend Anderson. At approximately 10:30 p.m., troopers spotted Anderson driving a green Chevrolet Cruze on Grand Avenue near North 32nd Street. When officers initiated a traffic stop, Anderson fled east on Kinkead Avenue. ASP troopers used a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) maneuver, forcing Anderson to crash in the 600 block of North 34th Street.

During the pursuit, Anderson discarded a bag from his vehicle, which was later recovered by troopers. Inside, authorities found over 100 Fentanyl pills, Psilocybin mushrooms, illegal marijuana, and 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine.

Anderson sustained minor injuries and was treated at Baptist Health in Fort Smith before being transported to the Sebastian County Detention Center. He is now facing multiple felony charges, including Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Fleeing, Driving on a Suspended License, and Parole Violation.
