Cord, AR – An arrest warrant was issued on August 23 for Fredrick Heath Heyde, 42, from Cord, following a significant drug and firearms bust. Heyde is facing several felony charges, including simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and maintaining a drug premises.
According to the affidavit for arrest, Heyde was allegedly involved in selling medical marijuana and THC products to multiple individuals, including high school students. The arrest followed a search warrant executed on August 22 by the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force.
During the search, authorities uncovered a shed that was organized like a marijuana dispensary. The shed contained display cases, a cash box with $57 in one-dollar bills, various marijuana and THC products, digital scales, packing materials, new marijuana smoking devices, a logbook of drug sales, and a price menu. The seized products included THC edibles, vapes, pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes, and large bags of marijuana.
In a post-Miranda interview, Heyde admitted to law enforcement that he had been selling THC items from his home and shed with the intention of eventually obtaining a legal license to operate.
Inside Heyde’s residence, officers found a gun safe containing a 9 mm pistol on top and a loaded 12-gauge shotgun leaning against it. The safe also held canisters of cash and coins. Additionally, a lockbox next to Heyde’s bed contained $15,220. The total amount of cash recovered from the residence was $26,175.
The search also revealed 1,047 grams of marijuana, 116 THC vape cartridges and pens, 84 containers of THC wax weighing 119 grams, 48 packages of THC edibles totaling 1,881 grams, and 67 marijuana cigarettes. Most of these items appeared to be from out-of-state dispensaries, as Heyde reportedly seldom bought from local dispensaries despite holding an Arkansas medical-cannabis card.
Heyde’s bond has been set at $30,000. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to unravel the extent of the operation.
