Called-2-Duty Campaign Launches in Little Rock to Support Veterans Battling Substance Abuse

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Revolution Music Room in Little Rock was filled Saturday night with supporters gathered to kick off Called-2-Duty, a new campaign by Camp Alliance aiming to help veterans struggling with substance abuse. The event marked a powerful step toward raising awareness and providing crucial support to those who have served.

“It’s a veteran helping a veteran. We’ll be able to make that connection and meet them where they’re at,” said Michael Springer, a member of the organization. “And be that candle for them in that dark place and bring them back.”

Jody Bergstrom, representing Camp Alliance, emphasized the importance of the campaign, which is part of an effort to combat the opioid crisis affecting many veterans. The night’s goal, according to Bergstrom, was to start a community-wide conversation on how everyone can play a role in supporting veterans and addressing the challenges of addiction.

“Identify overdoses, help fight that crime wave, huge education campaign,” Bergstrom explained. “That’s what we’re kicking off here tonight.”

As the Called-2-Duty initiative begins, Camp Alliance and its supporters are committed to making a difference in the lives of veterans, showing them that their community stands with them in their journey to recovery.
