Bullet Hole Discovered in Independence County Courthouse Window

This morning, Independence County Judge Kevin Jeffery was met with an unsettling sight as he entered his second-floor office in the courthouse. Scattered across the floor were shards of broken glass, a stark contrast to the office’s condition when he left the previous day. Upon further inspection, Judge Jeffery noticed a bullet hole in the upper portion of his office window, which faces Main Street. In an interview with White River Now this afternoon, Judge Jeffery explained that Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens and other law enforcement officials are actively investigating the incident. As of now, they have not located the projectile responsible for the damage. The investigation includes efforts to determine the bullet's origin, and authorities are seeking footage from nearby security cameras that might provide additional information.
