Authorities have arrested a Batesville man on four felony counts of distributing, possessing, or viewing matter depicting explicit conduct involving a child.
Nathaniel Lloyd Nerdin, 36, was taken into custody on Feb. 4 following an investigation prompted by a cyber-tip alerting authorities to suspected child sexual abuse material being uploaded to an account linked to his email and cell phone.
According to court documents, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Nerdin’s phone in January, uncovering thousands of images and more than 1,700 videos. Investigators reported that approximately 90% of the material consisted of pornography, including content classified as “adult porn, animal porn, and child porn.”
During questioning, Nerdin claimed he had been paying for pornography but stated that websites were sending him material he did not request. He told investigators he had attempted to delete his account but continued to receive content from an online source.
Nerdin is currently being held on a $100,000 bond as authorities continue their investigation.
