Early School Dismissals and Closures Announced for Thursday, January 9, 2025
In anticipation of winter weather conditions, several schools and programs in the region have announced early dismissals and closures for Thursday, January 9, 2025. Here is the latest list of adjustments:
- Batesville School District: All K-12 schools and preschool locations will dismiss at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 9. Additionally, schools will be closed on Friday, January 10. All after-school activities have been canceled.
- Midland School District: Early dismissal will occur on Thursday, January 9. Elementary students will be released at 12:40 p.m., and high school students will be dismissed at 1 p.m.
- Mountain View School District: All schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, to ensure safe transportation and allow families time to prepare. Adjustments may be made if weather conditions worsen earlier than anticipated.
- New Directions (Operated by Network of Community Options – Batesville): The program will close at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, and will remain closed on Friday, January 10.
- Southside School District: K-12 students will be released early on Thursday, January 9, with car riders dismissed at 1 p.m. and bus riders at 1:15 p.m. The preschool program will close at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, and the TRACKS program will be closed for the afternoon. There will also be no school on Friday, January 10.
