BATESVILLE, Arkansas – Lyon College will host its annual Lyon Launch accepted student day on Friday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., welcoming newly admitted students and their families to campus for a day of celebration, exploration and connection. Check-in is set for 10 a.m. in the Maxfield Room on the first floor of Edwards Commons, located on the Lyon College campus at 2300 Highland Rd., Batesville.
Lyon Launch offers accepted students an exclusive opportunity to immerse themselves in the Lyon experience by connecting with current students, faculty, staff and alumni. The event gives prospective Scots a taste of campus life and the close-knit community that defines the Lyon College experience.
“This is more than a visit—it’s a celebration of each student’s admission and a first step toward launching their college journey,” said Tommy Newton, vice president for enrollment services. “We’re excited to help students envision their future here and to introduce them to the people who will support them every step of the way.”
Attendees will take campus tours, interact with faculty and students, participate in student life activities, and sit in on college classes across a wide range of disciplines including biology, kinesiology, business administration, political science, anthropology, music, chemistry and information technology, among others.
Lyon Launch is also part of a broader initiative by Lyon College to support student success and post-graduate outcomes.
“We want our students to see the full trajectory—from their first day on campus to life as a Lyon graduate making a difference in the world,” said Newton. “Lyon Launch is about igniting that vision.”
