BATESVILLE, Arkansas – Lyon College’s campus has been transformed into an open-air gallery, as students from Assistant Professor of Art Cody Norton’s 3-Dimensional Studio II course unveiled their latest creations in “Irregular Structures.” On display now through March 12, the public is invited to explore the imaginative and thought-provoking works between Edwards Commons and the Mabee-Simpson Library.
This unique installation, a culmination of students’ exploration of form, space and structure, was completed during class on Feb. 24. Visitors now have the opportunity to experience firsthand the dynamic and unconventional designs that define this project. The exhibit highlights the creativity and technical skills of Lyon College’s budding artists, offering a fresh perspective on contemporary sculpture and spatial composition.
“We’re excited to share these works with the community,” said Norton. “This project challenges students to think beyond traditional structures and create pieces that engage with the environment in unexpected ways. The campus provides the perfect setting for this evolving dialogue between art and space.”
Visitors are encouraged to stop by, walk through the exhibit and experience the innovative approaches taken by these emerging artists.
