LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Southern rock legends Black Oak Arkansas are set to take the stage at the 2025 Mutants of the Monster Festival in Little Rock, scheduled to run from June 5-7.
The festival, named after the band’s iconic song “Mutants of the Monster,” made the announcement via social media, expressing excitement over the inclusion of Jim “Dandy” Mangrum and the revitalized Black Oak Arkansas lineup.
“We’re deeply honored to welcome Jim Dandy and Black Oak Arkansas to the 2025 fest,” the announcement read. “This all started years ago as just a bunch of friends wanting to play one big weekend show together, and we’ve always connected with the message Mutants of the Monster delivered.”
Fronted by Mangrum, the band has kept the spirit of southern rock alive for over five decades. Known for their electrifying stage presence and timeless hits, Black Oak Arkansas continues to tour and release new music, keeping their legacy vibrant.
The Mutants of the Monster Festival, now approaching its 10th anniversary, has become a staple event for central Arkansas music fans. The festival’s performances have taken place at prominent local venues, including Rev Room, Stickyz, Four Quarter Bar, Whitewater Tavern, and the Argenta Contemporary Theatre.
The 2024 edition of the festival featured a diverse lineup, including John Garcia of Kyuss, Weedeater, Rwake, Medicine Horse, Adam Faucett, Deadbird, Direwolf, and Mammoth Caravan. With the announcement of Black Oak Arkansas as part of the 2025 lineup, the festival promises another unforgettable celebration of music.
