Batesville, AR – William Tyrone Harper, 50, of Batesville, faces numerous charges following an incident at College View Apartments on August 26. An affidavit filed on August 28 details Harper’s arrest, highlighting a range of felony and misdemeanor charges.
Harper, a parolee, is charged with four counts of criminal mischief and three counts of battery, all felonies. He also faces misdemeanor charges for criminal mischief, communicating a false alarm, and resisting arrest.
The incident unfolded late Monday night at approximately 11:56 p.m., when both Batesville Police and the Batesville Fire Department responded to reports of broken vehicle windows and a fire alarm activation at the College View Apartments located at 99 Lawson Drive.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities located Harper on East Main, near Lawson Road. Harper initially claimed he was injured but then began to resist arrest, fighting with officers. Harper admitted to ingesting methamphetamine earlier in the day. He was transported to White River Medical Center, where he continued to be belligerent and resist both medical staff and law enforcement. He was eventually sedated for safety reasons.
