Reaves proved to be the difference-maker in the fourth quarter, scoring 15 of his points, including three critical three-pointers, to secure the win. He shot an impressive 13 of 23 from the field and was perfect at the free-throw line, sinking all eight attempts. The Newark native’s latest feat eclipsed his previous career-high of 35 points, which he had achieved twice before, most recently on December 31 against Cleveland.
Since Christmas, Reaves has been in remarkable form, averaging 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game across the Lakers’ last 10 matchups. His shooting efficiency during this stretch has been exceptional, with a 44.7% field goal percentage and 40.6% accuracy from three-point range. Lakers head coach JJ Redick praised Reaves’ performance, noting his All-Star-caliber contributions.
Reaves’ basketball journey began at Cedar Ridge High School, where he won back-to-back Class 2A state championships in his first two years and was a two-time Class 3A All-State selection. After signing with the Lakers in 2021, he has steadily developed into a vital asset for the team.
