Additional Felony Charges For Otero, Bond Set At $500K

Rape charges have been added to the case against Christopher Daniel Otero, 33, of Batesville. Otero was previously charged with two felony counts of distributing, possessing, or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct with a child.

According to the affidavit for arrest, on Dec. 6, detectives executed a search warrant for cheek-swabs for DNA and photos of Otero’s tattoos. After careful review of the photos of Otero’s tattoos compared to the video of someone engaged in sexual intercourse with a minor female, it was determined that they were indeed Otero’s tattoos, which then brought about the additional charges according to detectives.

According to court documents, Otero is will also be prosecuted as a habitual offender, with more than one, but less than four previous felonies.
