One Injured in Shooting Outside Jonesboro VFW Saturday Night

JONESBORO, Ark. – One person was hospitalized following a shooting outside the Veterans of Foreign Wars post on North Airport Road late Saturday night.

Jonesboro police responded to reports of shots fired at the VFW at 300 N. Airport Road around 10:24 p.m. on Oct. 25. Officers found an unidentified victim suffering from a gunshot wound and transported them to a local hospital, where their condition remains unknown. Property damage was also reported at the scene.

The incident occurred just before doors were set to open for a planned party at the facility. Multiple shots were fired in the parking area, according to authorities.

No suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made as of Sunday morning. The Jonesboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division processed the scene overnight, and the probe continues.

Jonesboro Police Department public information officer Sally Smith said, “Multiple shots were fired before the doors opened to a planned party Saturday night, October 25, at the VFW, 300 Airport Road in Jonesboro.”
