Holiday Festivities to Light Up Batesville: A Guide to Upcoming Celebrations

BATESVILLE, Ark. — The holiday season is fast approaching, and Batesville is gearing up with a lineup of festive events that are sure to bring the community together. From tree-lighting ceremonies to holiday markets and parades, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Here’s a look at some of the upcoming celebrations that will make this holiday season in Batesville unforgettable.

Batesville’s Annual Christmas Parade

Held annually on historic Main Street in the heart of downtown Batesville, the Christmas Parade has become a treasured tradition. The parade is hosted by Batesville’s Kiwanis Club and typically lasts about an hour. Try your hand at catching candy thrown to you by little leaguers and enjoy seasonal magic as snow falls from the sky. Little ones can even catch a glimpse of Santa.

The parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 6 p.m. on Main Street. The 2024 parade route begins near the intersection of 12th and Main and ends at Marshall Dry Goods. Learn more at facebook.com/BatesvilleKiwanisParade.

White River Wonderland: A Dazzling Light Display

The White River Wonderland light display is one of the largest in the region, transforming Riverside Park into a sparkling winter wonderland. The display will open to the public on November 27th and will remain open through the New Year, offering locals and visitors alike a chance to experience the magic of thousands of twinkling lights and holiday-themed scenes. Families can enjoy wagon rides through the lights, grab hot cocoa from local vendors, and snap pictures at the designated photo stops. The display is open every evening, making it a perfect holiday outing for all ages.

Batesville Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

The official start of the season kicks off with the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Citizens Bank Pocket Park on November 30 at 5:30 p.m. This event also marks the beginning of the White River Wonderland display, creating a beautiful backdrop for the evening. Enjoy some live music as we celebrate the start of the Christmas season!

Winter Wonderland Skating Rink

Winter Wonderland Skating Rink will provide a unique, festive experience for families and friends. Opening on November 29 until December 30 Closed December 24 and 25 $6 per person for 1 hour
$125 for 2-hour party (discounts available for schools) and running through the holiday season, the rink will be located at Riverside Park. Admission includes skate rentals, and visitors of all ages are encouraged to take to the ice, whether they’re seasoned skaters or trying it for the first time. Hot drinks and snacks will be available, making it a cozy winter activity that adds a new layer of fun to Batesville’s holiday lineup.

Carriage Rides

One of the best ways to experience the sights and sounds of the White River Wonderland is from the comfort of a horse-drawn carriage. Carriage Rides can get chilly. We recommend wearing warm clothing and bringing a blanket.

Friday – Saturday: 5:30 – 10 p.m.

$10 per person for ages two and up.
Tickets must be purchased in person. No reservations are accepted.

White River Express Train Rides

Enjoy White River Wonderland’s millions of dancing lights from the comfort of our custom-built White River Express train. The train can get chilly. We recommend wearing warm clothing and bringing a blanket.

Friday – Saturday: 5:30 – 10 p.m.

$6 per person for ages two and up.
Tickets must be purchased in person. No reservations are accepted.

Ferris Wheel

Enjoy the dancing lights at the White River Wonderland from above!

Open December 13 – 21

Sunday – Thursday: 5 – 10 p.m.
Friday – Saturday: 5 – 11 p.m.

Ferris Wheel inclement weather policy: The White River Wonderland will operate continuously throughout the scheduled time. The Ferris Wheel will not run if winds are 67 mph or higher, the ground becomes too saturated, or lighting has struck within the last 30 minutes. If this happens during your scheduled time, please fill out this form, and we will work with you to find a new time for your ride. We will not reschedule rides for those who are late or miss their scheduled rides for non-weather-related issues.
