BATESVILLE, Arkansas — Dr. Kieran O’Keefe, assistant professor of history, will present “Ending a Civil War: The Reintegration of Loyalists after the American Revolution” at a Lyon College Faculty Colloquium on Friday, Sept. 26, at 4 p.m. in the Nucor Auditorium of the Lyon Business and Economics Building, 2300 Highland Rd., Batesville.
Part of Lyon College’s ongoing faculty research series, the free event is open to students, faculty, staff and the general public.
In his presentation, Dr. O’Keefe will explore how American colonists who remained loyal to Britain were reintegrated into society after the Revolutionary War, examining the political, social and economic challenges they faced.
“Understanding the post-war experiences of Loyalists helps us see how a divided society sought to rebuild itself after conflict,” Dr. O’Keefe said. “Their stories shed light on broader questions of reconciliation, justice and community in times of upheaval.”
The Lyon College Faculty Colloquium series provides a platform for faculty to share their research, engage with the campus community and foster dialogue across disciplines.
