Gamaliel Man Accused in Child Exploitation, Explosives and Drug Cases Released on Bond

Gamaliel Man Accused in Child Exploitation, Explosives and Drug Cases Released on Bond

GAMALIEL, Ark. — A 61-year-old Gamaliel man facing multiple felony charges including possession of child sexual abuse material, explosives and drugs has been released from custody on a $50,000 bond with electronic monitoring.

Michael Raymond Wamser Jr. posted bond June 2 and returned to his Fout Road home under house arrest, according to court records. A single bond covers both of his pending 2026 felony cases in Baxter County — one involving child pornography charges and the other explosives, firearms and drug allegations.

Deputies arrested Wamser on April 27. At the time of his arrest, authorities reported a combined bond amount of $400,000. A judge later consolidated the cases under one $50,000 bond, allowing his release pending trial.

Arkansas State Police, along with the Baxter County and Marion County sheriff’s offices, executed a search warrant at Wamser’s residence on April 27 as part of a child exploitation investigation.

Investigators reported finding child sexual abuse material, approximately 50 firearms, a pipe bomb and drugs during the search. The pipe bomb was safely removed and detonated by a bomb squad. Wamser admitted to owning multiple online accounts used to download and view child sexual abuse material, according to authorities.

He was initially arrested on an outstanding bench warrant at the Baxter County Court Complex before additional charges were filed following the search.

The release follows standard Arkansas procedures for setting bond in felony cases. Court records show Wamser remains under house arrest with an ankle monitor while awaiting further proceedings.
