BATESVILLE — A professional rodeo will return to Independence County next month, with two nights of competition scheduled at the Batesville Rodeo Arena.
Experience Independence and CK Rodeo Co. will present the event on Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18, at the East Main Sports Complex. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. both nights. Admission is $5, with tickets available at the gate.
The rodeo will feature bareback riding, saddle bronc, ranch bronc, bull riding, tie-down roping, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, team roping, 50-plus team roping, cowgirl barrel racing and junior barrel racing. The event is sanctioned by the Arkansas Cowboy Association, Arkansas Rodeo Association and Cowboys Regional Rodeo Association, drawing competitors from across the region.
Corey Kurck of CK Rodeo Co. said organizers are bringing quality rodeo action to the community.
The event is expected to attract hundreds of visitors to Independence County and provide family entertainment for local residents.
Crystal Johnson, CEO of the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, described the rodeo as an opportunity for families to enjoy competition and celebrate American traditions, particularly as communities prepare for America 250 observances.
