HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin announced Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, that nine men were arrested in Hot Springs on charges of sexual solicitation following a multi-agency operation earlier this week.

The arrests targeted individuals using online platforms to arrange paid sexual encounters, with information developed during broader investigations into illicit massage businesses and human trafficking operations. Authorities described the effort as focusing on the demand side of such activities, which they say perpetuates human trafficking.

The nine men, each charged with sexual solicitation—a Class A misdemeanor—are:

  • Vicente Santos, 46
  • David Hicks, 22
  • Jacob Benson, 32
  • Edward Freeman, 22
  • Antron Pearson, 37
  • Isaias Martinez-Sanchez, 30
  • Michael McConnell, 32
  • Carthon Cooper, 26 (or 27 in some reports)
  • Gustavo Gonzalez, 28

The operation involved the Arkansas Attorney General’s Special Investigations Division leading a coordinated effort with Homeland Security Investigations (U.S. Department of Homeland Security), the FBI, Garland County Sheriff’s Office, Hot Springs Police Department, Little Rock Police Department, and Arkansas State Police. Prosecuting Attorney Michelle Lawrence of the 18th Judicial District East assisted.

Attorney General Griffin stated: “For the past two years, we’ve focused primarily on the supply side of these kinds of operations by going after the establishments where illicit activity is occurring.” He added, “Make no mistake, this is despicable behavior, and it perpetuates human trafficking, plain and simple. And our work is having an impact.”

The announcement highlighted the collaborative nature of the investigation and thanked partnering agencies for their assistance.

No further details on court appearances, bail status or additional charges were immediately available. The Batesville Tribune will continue to monitor developments in this case and related enforcement efforts across Arkansas.
