Arkansas Mother Buried Alone After Twins’ Remains Released to Abusive Ex-Husband Following Fatal Shooting

Bonanza, AR – A grieving family in Sebastian County is reeling from a tragic and controversial aftermath to a triple homicide, as 40-year-old Charity Beallis was laid to rest without her 6-year-old twins, whose bodies were turned over to her ex-husband despite his history of domestic violence.

Charity Beallis and her twin children—a boy and a girl—were found fatally shot inside their $750,000 home in Bonanza on December 3, 2025, during a welfare check. The discovery came just one day after Charity attended a final divorce hearing with her estranged husband, Dr. Randall Beallis, a local family medicine physician.

The couple had been locked in a contentious custody battle for months. Charity filed for divorce in March 2025, citing domestic violence, after Randall was arrested in February for allegedly choking her in front of the children. He pleaded guilty to third-degree battery in October and received a suspended sentence and fine. A protective order barred him from contact with Charity or the children without court approval.

Despite Charity’s repeated warnings that she feared for her life and the children’s safety—including social media posts about how domestic abuse can escalate to murder—the court awarded Randall joint custody shortly before the killings. Following the deaths, a Sebastian County judge ruled in December that Charity’s body would be released to her eldest son, 24-year-old John Powell, while the twins’ remains would go to their father, Randall.

Charity was buried on December 29, 2025. John Powell told reporters he had hoped to bury all three together, calling the separation “sickening” and “heartbreaking.” He said he has received no information from Randall about the twins’ burial or cremation and does not know where they are.

“It’s just been a lot,” Powell said. “I don’t even know if the kids have been buried, or cremated, or where they may be… It’s heartbreaking.”

Randall Beallis has not been named a suspect in the ongoing investigation led by the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State Police. His attorney has stated that he is cooperating with authorities, is heartbroken by the deaths, and had no involvement. Police have not released additional details about the circumstances of the shootings or any potential suspects.

The case has drawn attention to issues of domestic violence and the handling of custody in high-conflict divorces. Charity’s family continues to seek answers and justice.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.
