Former Hog Cam Little Shatters NFL Record with Epic 68-Yard Field Goal

LAS VEGAS – Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little made NFL history Sunday, drilling a 68-yard field goal as time expired in the first half of a 30-29 overtime victory over the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.

The kick, from the Jaguars’ 49-yard line after a punt return and a fair catch interference penalty, cut a 6-0 Raiders lead to 6-3 at halftime. It surpassed Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker’s previous record of 66 yards, set in 2021 against the Detroit Lions. Little also connected on a 33-yard field goal in the third quarter and a 48-yarder as regulation ended to force overtime, where Trevor Lawrence scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak.

“You kick it long enough and straight enough, it’s going to go in,” Little said after the game. He credited a pre-kick conversation with holder Logan Cooke: “I said, ‘I’m going to hit this ball as hard as I can.’ Usually when I tell myself that, I find success.” Jaguars coach Liam Coen celebrated with Little on the field and later noted the team’s unwavering support despite recent misses.

The 22-year-old Little, a sixth-round pick (No. 212 overall) by Jacksonville in the 2024 NFL Draft, entered the game 10-of-14 on field goals through seven games. With Sunday’s three makes, he improved to 13-of-17 on field goals (76.5%) and 17-of-18 on extra points through eight games. He had missed three of his previous four attempts before the bye week.

A native of Moore, Oklahoma, where he starred at Southmoore High School, Little played three seasons at the University of Arkansas from 2021 to 2023. He holds the Razorbacks’ record for career field goal percentage at 82.8% (53-of-64) and was perfect on 129 extra-point attempts. As a junior in 2023, he earned first-team All-SEC honors as a kickoff specialist and made a career-long 56-yard field goal against Ole Miss. Little also gained national attention for his charity work with Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas, donating for each made field goal and appearing on Good Morning America.

Little had previewed his range with a 70-yard field goal in the Jaguars’ 2025 preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Aug. 9—the longest in any level of organized football at the time—but it didn’t count toward NFL records. His jersey and cleat from that game are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The record comes amid a league-wide kicking surge, with seven field goals of 60-plus yards in 2025—the most in a single season. Experts attribute it partly to the NFL’s new “K-ball” rule, allowing teams 60 pre-broken-in balls for kickers.

The University of Arkansas athletics department celebrated on social media: “CAM LITTLE. NFL RECORD HOLDER. WOO PIG!” With the win, the Jaguars improved to 5-3.
