FutureFuel Consolidates Corporate Operations in Batesville, Closes Missouri Headquarters

BATESVILLE, Ark. – FutureFuel Corp., the specialty organic chemical and biofuel producer that has called Batesville home for nearly two decades, announced plans to close its headquarters in Clayton, Missouri, and consolidate all corporate operations at its Batesville facility.

The move brings key personnel to the company’s main production, technology and administrative site on Miller Avenue, where FutureFuel has operated since 2006. While specifics on the timeline and total number of affected positions were not disclosed, the consolidation underscores Batesville’s central role in the company’s growth and daily operations.

FutureFuel, traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker FF, generated $243.3 million in revenue in 2024, with biofuels—primarily biodiesel—accounting for $163.3 million. The company paused biodiesel production at the Batesville plant in June amid regulatory uncertainty over the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit, elevated input costs and challenging market dynamics. Recent developments, including the extension of the 45Z credit through 2029 under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed July 4, along with record soybean crops and reduced export demand, have improved the outlook. FutureFuel now anticipates restarting biodiesel operations in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Looking ahead, the company projects specialty chemicals to drive a larger share of sales beginning in the first quarter of 2026, supported by targeted investments in that segment. Shares closed at $4.03 on Tuesday, reflecting a 32% decline over the past year. Third-quarter results are set for release on Nov. 10.
