Cleburne County, AR – A major drug bust in Cleburne County has resulted in the seizure of 11 pounds of methamphetamine, thanks to a coordinated effort by the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force (DTF). The operation, conducted on Friday, March 28, 2025, involved multiple law enforcement agencies and underscores the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region.
The 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force, led by Commander Johnny Byler and Project Director Drew Smith, collaborated with the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office, Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, Concord Police Department, U.S. Postal Inspectors, the 3rd Drug Task Force, and Batesville Police Department. This joint effort highlights the comprehensive approach being taken to address drug-related crimes in Arkansas.

During the operation, authorities executed a search warrant at a designated residence in Cleburne County, where they apprehended a suspect identified as Fernando Rosales Gonzales. Gonzales was found in possession of the seized methamphetamine, which weighed approximately 11 pounds. The operation was the culmination of an extensive undercover investigation aimed at dismantling local drug trafficking networks.
Commander Johnny Byler emphasized the significance of the seizure, noting that formal charges will be presented to the 16th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney. The charges include one count of trafficking methamphetamine exceeding 200 grams, classified as a Class Y felony. Byler also reminded the public that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
