16th Judicial District Drug Task Force Busts Multiple Suspects in Multi-County Narcotics Sweep

BATESVILLE, Ark. — The 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force has wrapped up a series of major investigations, leading to the arrest of numerous suspects across Independence, Stone, Fulton, Cleburne, and Izard counties. The operations targeted illegal drug activity, resulting in charges primarily related to methamphetamine possession, delivery, and maintaining drug premises.

Over the past several months, the task force—led by Commander Johnny Byler and Prosecuting Attorney Drew Smith—conducted extensive probes that culminated in the apprehension and formal charging of the following individuals:

  • Constance Renee Morris: Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (10-200 grams of methamphetamine); 103 grams seized.
  • David Perkins: Possession of a controlled substance (less than 2 grams).
  • David Meaded: Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Michael Goodman: Two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
  • Phillip Powell: Delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
  • Teddy Harris: Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
  • Hannah Avalos Perez: Two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
  • Jessie Smith: Delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
  • Benny Hutchins: Two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and maintaining a drug premises.
  • James Magouirk: Delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
  • Kimberly Shrake: Delivery of a controlled substance (Schedule III narcotic) and delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
  • Darvell Nelson: Delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and maintaining a drug premises.
  • Nick Ford: Two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine) and one count of delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
  • Richard Goodman / Tracey Childress: Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine, 10-200 grams; 72 grams seized).
  • Brian Hill: Two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and maintaining a drug premises.
  • Joshua Carpenter: Delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and maintaining a drug premises.
  • Donna Shipman: Three counts of delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
  • Robert Michael Rogers: Two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
  • Katherine Denhart: Two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and maintaining a drug premises—warrant issued.
  • Mary Jane Conrey: Delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)—warrant issued.
  • Joshua Gordon: Delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)—warrant issued.

“These arrests emphasize our unwavering commitment to holding drug offenders accountable and protecting our communities,” said Drew Smith, Prosecuting Attorney for the 16th Judicial District. “Our Drug Task Force and partner agencies have demonstrated exceptional teamwork, dedication, and perseverance in disrupting drug networks that threaten public safety.”

The task force expressed gratitude to participating agencies for their cooperation in combating narcotics-related crimes. All cases remain under active prosecution, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
