Phillips arrives at UACCB with a robust background in strategic communications and policy development. Most recently, he served as the Policy and Communications Chief at the Idaho Department of Lands, where he established the department’s inaugural Policy and Communications unit. His leadership there significantly enhanced public outreach and transparency. In his new role, Phillips will act as the primary liaison between UACCB and external partners. His responsibilities will include enhancing communication, building robust relationships between the college, industry, and community entities, overseeing apprenticeship programs, creating new partnership opportunities, and leading both career credit and non-credit workforce initiatives.

Phillips expressed his excitement about the role, stating, “I’m honored to help UACCB improve lives by expanding our skilled local workforce and creating pathways to economic success for the hardworking citizens of our community. I can’t imagine a more fulfilling job.”

Additionally, Phillips will be instrumental in recruiting and supervising career credit instructors and staff, researching industry trends and labor market demands, and identifying funding opportunities to support partnership initiatives. His commitment to continuously evaluating and improving programs is aimed at driving innovation and promoting economic sustainability within the community.
