SHARP COUNTY, AR — Sheriff Shane Russell of Sharp County reported the arrest of 29 individuals during a coordinated, multi-agency law enforcement operation on Thursday, Oct. 24. The operation, organized by the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, targeted individuals with active arrest warrants and conducted compliance checks on probationers, parolees, and registered sex offenders.
The saturation began early Thursday morning and continued until midnight, with 48 officers participating across Sharp County. Sheriff Russell described the operation as a “complete success.”
Alongside the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, various agencies supported the effort, including police departments from Ash Flat, Cave City, Evening Shade, Highland, Cherokee Village, Hardy, and Pocahontas; sheriff’s offices from Izard, Independence, Randolph, Lawrence, and Jackson counties; Arkansas State Police; the 3rd Judicial Drug Task Force; Arkansas Department of Community Corrections; and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
The extensive collaboration between local, state, and federal agencies underscored a strong commitment to public safety and community protection in Sharp County.
