“Operation Ice Stone” Targets 30 Suspects

In January of 2023, a long-term investigation coined “Operation Ice Stone” was put in place to specifically target Methamphetamine dealers within Stone County. Detective Justin Meeks was assigned to this operation under the direction of myself and Chief Deputy Phil Burnham. Over the course of the investigation multiple names was provided to Detective Meeks in connection to the sale and distribution of Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, and other dangerous drugs. This operation largely consisted of undercover operations utilizing undercover officers and confidential informants to identify and target those trafficking and selling these deadly substances.

While some parts of this investigation remain ongoing, law enforcement officers from multiple agencies conducted a large-scale county round-up, yesterday June 13th 2024, beginning at 7:00 AM. This round up consisted of serving multiple Search Warrants at residences and locating the individuals that had been formally charged as a result of this operation. As a conclusion, Officers sought to locate and serve warrants on thirty (30) individuals for the sale and distribution of Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, or other dangerous drugs. Of the thirty (30) individuals sought, a portion was already incarcerated on unrelated charges. Individuals with an * were already incarcerated in the Arkansas Department of Corrections or county Jail on unrelated charges.

The Stone County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the assisting agencies in helping make this roundup possible: Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office, Independence County Sheriffs Office, Arkansas Probation and Parole, Arkansas Game and Fish, Mountain View Police Department, Heber Springs Police Department, Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, Searcy County Sheriffs Office, Arkansas Department of Finance Beverage Control, and Greers Ferry Police Department. I want to say a special thank you to Detective Meeks, who has tirelessly worked to identify and target these dealers. His hard work and relentless pursuit of Methamphetamine dealers during Operation Ice Stone have been phenomenal. I also want to specifically thank all the detectives and deputies of the Stone County Sheriff’s Office as this was a group effort.

The Sheriff’s Office is still looking for 9 individuals in connection with “Operation Ice Stone”, and any information as to their whereabouts can be directed to Detective Justin Meeks at (870) 269-3825. To those 9 individuals, we encourage you to come turn yourself in at the Sheriff’s Office as soon as possible.

To the people that choose to live this lifestyle and sell drugs within Stone County..… this is not the end of this operation but rather the conclusion of phase 1. Be assured if you continue to sell drugs in Stone County, you will be meeting me or some of my deputies in the near future.

-Sheriff Brandon Long
