WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — A man who was shot in the parking lot of Southland Casino early Friday morning has died from his injuries, according to West Memphis police.
The shooting took place just before 4 a.m., and the casino’s security team quickly contacted authorities following the isolated incident. The victim was transported to Baptist Hospital in Crittenden but later succumbed to his injuries.
Southland Casino issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to guest and staff safety, noting that they have a comprehensive security program that includes weapons detection systems at all entrances. Surveillance footage and additional information have been provided to assist police in their investigation.
Police have not released details on a suspect, and the investigation remains ongoing.
