Man Charged with Terroristic Act After Desha Shooting

According to court documents filed Thursday in circuit court, Independence County deputies responded to a residence on West McClendon Street in Desha on June 9 following an altercation that led to the shooting of Donnell Robinson.

Shortly after the incident, Itrevone J. Sain, 25, contacted dispatch, identifying himself as the other party involved in the altercation. Sain requested officers to come to the West McClendon Street residence so he could turn himself in. Deputies arrived and arrested Sain without incident.

Following a search of the McClendon Street residence and interviews with witnesses, county law enforcement officers questioned Sain. He stated that Robinson had attacked him in his home after a verbal disagreement. Sain, feeling threatened by Robinson’s size, said he was “offended” that Robinson would attack him in his own home and in front of his children. During the interview, Sain explained that he retrieved a firearm after Robinson exited the house.

Once outside, Sain told officers that Robinson continued to refuse to leave and was disrespectful. Fearing another attack, Sain claimed he fired warning shots while Robinson was still outside his vehicle. However, when asked in which direction he fired, Sain did not provide an answer.

On June 18, Robinson, who was recovering at the White River Health intensive care unit, recounted the events to county investigators. He stated that he and his wife left the residence after Sain grabbed his hair during an argument. As they walked to their vehicle, Sain followed them outside, allegedly threatening them. Once inside the vehicle, Robinson claimed that Sain fired multiple shots through the driver’s side window until the firearm jammed.

Robinson sustained four gunshot wounds, all to the left side of his upper body and waist. He and his wife managed to drive away and met an ambulance at a nearby convenience store.

Sain has been charged with one felony count of committing a terroristic act. His bond is set at $200,000.
