“Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Attic Blaze on Delta Street; No Injuries Reported”

Firefighters were dispatched to Delta Street at 11:47 p.m. and were advised by the first unit that arrived on the scene that there was heavy smoke, believing it was an attic fire.(Southside Volunteer Fire Department)

Firefighters were dispatched to Delta Street at 11:47 p.m. Upon arrival, the first unit reported heavy smoke, indicating a potential attic fire. An E-2 truck deployed two hose lines, and firefighters made entry into the house, beginning a primary search with a hose line.

After completing the search, firefighters extinguished the fire. They also cut a vertical ventilation hole to allow heavy smoke and hot gases to exit the structure. The fire caused damage to three rooms and a bathroom, with smoke damage affecting the rest of the house. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
