FEMA Streamlines Aid for Arkansas Storm Victims, Expands Eligibility for Immediate Relief

LITTLE ROCK — FEMA is providing a streamlined process and expanded eligibility for Arkansas residents needing assistance due to the severe weather that struck the state from May 24-27.

Eligible individuals can apply for help through FEMA’s Serious Need Assistance (SNA) program, which offers a one-time payment for emergency supplies such as water, first aid, breastfeeding supplies, infant formula, diapers, personal hygiene items, and transportation fuel.

Applicants have 30 days from the disaster declaration date to apply for SNA. To qualify, individuals must be displaced, need shelter, or have incurred other emergency costs due to the disaster.

FEMA’s Displacement Assistance also offers funding to help individuals find temporary shelter, whether in hotels, with family members, friends, or other living arrangements.

Residents of Benton, Boone, and Marion counties who apply for FEMA’s Individual Assistance can receive these benefits. SNA applicants must undergo an inspection to confirm eligibility before funds are released.

To apply for FEMA assistance, individuals can:

  • Apply online by clicking here,
  • Download the FEMA app,
  • Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
