The Cleburne and Independence County Cattlewomen’s Bootcamp is set to return from April 10-12, promising an even more impactful experience for women in agriculture. Hosted by the Cooperative Extension Service offices in Cleburne and Independence counties, this year’s event will take place at Chimney Rock Cattle Company in Concord and the Livestock and Forestry Station in Batesville, part of the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station.
Last year’s bootcamp was a significant success, equipping women with valuable skills and a supportive environment to thrive in the cattle industry. Building on that success, the 2025 bootcamp will offer an expanded agenda covering essential topics such as forage management, herd health and nutrition, cattle handling, farm business planning, and practical skills like trailer backing and administering cattle shots.
Hands-On Learning in a Supportive Environment
The three-day event is designed to provide hands-on experience in a female-focused, non-intimidating setting. Attendees will gain practical skills that directly impact their day-to-day operations, enhancing both their confidence and competence in managing cattle.
Event organizers emphasized the importance of creating a space where women can learn, connect, and grow without the pressures often felt in traditional agricultural training environments. The limited spots—capped at 35 participants—ensure a personalized experience with plenty of opportunities for one-on-one guidance.
Registration Details
Registration for the bootcamp is $50, covering food and materials for all three days. Interested participants can secure their spot by contacting the Independence County Extension Office at 870-793-8840 or by visiting here.
With a focus on empowering women in agriculture, this year’s bootcamp promises to be an invaluable resource for both newcomers and seasoned cattlewomen alike.
