Caveman Burger from Bailey’s Family Restaurant Crowned Arkansas’s Best Burger

CAVE CITY, AR — The Arkansas Beef Council proudly names the Caveman Burger from Bailey’s Family Restaurant in Cave City as the winner of the first-ever Arkansas’s Best Burger Contest, which celebrates Arkansas restaurants using 100% locally-sourced beef. The winning Caveman Burger is a two-pound, single beef patty on a massive nine-inch bun. Diners can upgrade with a double patty, cheese, or bacon for added indulgence.

“The enthusiastic response to this inaugural Arkansas’s Best Burger Contest shows that Arkansans truly appreciate high-quality beef and the dedication of local restaurants in crafting the perfect burger,” said Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward.

The contest received over 2,400 nominations, with more than 410 unique burgers submitted. From these entries, the top 10 finalists were chosen, and the Caveman Burger achieved the highest score from an anonymous panel of judges who evaluated taste, presentation, cooking quality, and overall impression.

“Arkansas beef producers take pride in providing the beef enjoyed both at home and in our beloved burger joints. Congratulations to all the finalists and our Arkansas’s Best Burger Contest winner,” said Arkansas Beef Council Chairman Caleb Plyler.

Bailey’s Family Restaurant, previously known as Bailey’s Country Cookin’, is a cherished local establishment run by three generations of the Bailey family—Scott, Shelly, daughters Andi (now the owner) and McKee, along with their granddaughter—all working alongside a team that feels like family. Bailey’s sources local produce, including squash, tomatoes, and watermelon, in season. Beyond its menu, Bailey’s fosters community with initiatives like free veterans’ dinners and lively holiday events, making everyone feel right at home.

The Arkansas Beef Council’s mission is to promote, research, and develop the beef industry, enhancing the reputation of Arkansas beef and expanding opportunities for local cattle producers.
