FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas Razorbacks are facing a $250,000 fine following a field rush after their 19-14 victory over No. 4 Tennessee Volunteers on October 5. The Southeastern Conference (SEC) imposed the fine due to a second violation of its field access policy, which prohibits fans from entering competition areas to ensure safety.
Drone footage and video posted on Razorback Football’s social media captured the crowd flooding the field moments after the win. Tennessee’s Vanderbilt University was also fined $100,000 for a similar incident on the same day.
The SEC’s rules state that only authorized individuals such as athletes and staff may access the field at any time. Arkansas’ previous violation, which triggered the heavier fine, came after a game in 2021.
The victory, which snapped Tennessee’s four-game winning streak, sparked huge celebrations as Arkansas’ season improved to 4-2.
This fine marks the second time Arkansas has violated the SEC’s access policy, and the fine increases with each subsequent breach.
