Aldi to Hire 13,000 New Workers and Increase Starting Pay Nationwide

Aldi, a major grocery retailer, has announced plans to hire 13,000 new employees and increase starting wages as it prepares for the upcoming holiday season and continues expanding nationwide. Since opening its first U.S. store in Iowa in 1976, Aldi has grown to over 2,300 locations across the country.

In a press release, Aldi officials encouraged applicants to apply during their National Hiring Week, highlighting competitive starting pay, industry-leading benefits, and long-term career opportunities. The company stated that starting wages for store employees will average $18 per hour, while warehouse workers will earn $23 per hour, with exact rates varying by market and position.

Employees working over 30 hours a week are eligible for health insurance, paid time off, and other benefits. Aldi also introduced flexible scheduling and fully paid parental and caregiver leave in response to employee feedback.

The company noted that many of its long-term employees started in entry-level positions. According to Aldi, 7 out of 10 assistant store managers and over 30% of store managers began as sales associates. Many employees have advanced into roles in areas such as buying, human resources, and supply chain management.

Interested candidates can apply at careers.aldi.us and may be invited to interview events during National Hiring Week, which runs from Sept. 9 to Sept. 15.
